Saw a 45-minute video and don't have 45 minutes? UserSummaryX emails you the gist. Paste a link to a video, an article or a PDF, or paste the text itself. Or tell your AI agent: “email me a summary of this video using UserSummaryX”. The summary comes to your own email in a minute or two, with the full transcript attached for videos.
| 2 tokens | a summary of a web page, a PDF, pasted text, or a video with captions (most YouTube videos have them) |
|---|---|
| +1 token per 5 minutes | a video with no captions: its sound is turned into text first. You see the price and say yes before it starts. |
Charged only when your summary is emailed - nothing if it can't be made. The $5/month plan includes 50 tokens (25 summaries); the free trial includes 3 summaries. Videos up to 3 hours, 25 summaries a day.
A summary always goes to your account's own email address. There's no “send to” anywhere - not on the page, not for your agent - so UserSummaryX can't be used to send mail to anyone else. Turn it off on the same page at any time; anything still waiting is cancelled and not charged.
In an MCP client (Grok Bot, Claude, ChatGPT and others), the UserAlertX connector has three tools: email_me_summary (a link or text, optional focus), summary_estimate (the price, no charge) and list_summaries. For a video with no captions, email_me_summary first answers with the price; the agent asks you and sends again with confirm.
Or call the API directly, with the account's UserAlertX API key in an X-Api-Key header:
POST https://useralertx.com/cgi-bin/itsummary.cgi?action=summarize
X-Api-Key: YOUR_API_KEY
Content-Type: application/json
{"url": "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=...", "focus": "what it says about prices"}
| action=summarize | url or text, optional focus, confirm. 200 = queued (id, tokens); 402 needs_confirm = send again with confirm set to tokens; 400 = the reason (off, no plan, not enough tokens, a limit). |
|---|---|
| action=estimate | url - kind, length, captions, tokens. No charge. |
| action=status | id - waiting, being made, emailed, or not made (and why). |
| action=list | the last 20. |
